Ximei, also known as "California Ximei", has a deep purple skin and amber flesh when ripe.
Ximei has a long history and was introduced to the West from West Asia. It was planted and grown in the central southern and western regions of Europe, as well as in the Balkan Peninsula. Among them, Ximei was more commonly planted in France, and the Ximei from California, USA, was also transplanted from France.
Ximei not only has a delicious and nutritious taste, but also is rich in vitamins, fiber, minerals, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. It is also free of fat and cholesterol, making it the best fruit for modern health.
Ximei is rich in nutrients
Ximei is rich in dietary fiber and water-soluble natural pectin fiber. Eating it regularly can restore gastric motility, promote intestinal peristalsis, effectively clear bowel movements, and relieve constipation.
High levels of nutrients such as vitamin A and vitamin C can promote metabolism, nourish the skin and hair, and maintain skin elasticity.
The iron element in prunes can increase blood oxygen content, improve iron deficiency anemia, make people blush, enhance physical strength, and thus alleviate anemia symptoms.
Ximei contains a high content of antioxidants, which have excellent effects in combating oxidation and beauty. According to the latest research, the antioxidant content in prunes is the highest among various fruits. It can effectively prevent the deterioration of heart disease, lung disease, and certain cancers, prevent the formation of cataracts, and have the effect of delaying aging.

The Origin of "Human Scavenger"
Ximei contains water-soluble natural pectin and insoluble plant fiber. The combination of these two fibers can effectively increase the intestinal motility and increase bowel movements.
At the same time, Simei can synthesize xylitol and sorbitol in the body. xylitol accelerates gastric emptying and promotes gastrointestinal peristalsis. Sorbitol has a relaxing and soothing effect on the gastrointestinal tract and regulates the gut microbiota, helping to soften excreta in the intestine.
The combination of these natural substances enables prunes to quickly relieve constipation, hence it is also known as a "human scavenger".
Can be used as a snack or as a side dish
There are also many processed products of prune, such as prune jerky and prune cake, which not only satisfy the appetite but also benefit health and are convenient to carry.
Unlike prunes, prunes have a high sugar content, so there is no need to marinate or add any sugar, salt, or other seasoning. Therefore, prunes can be made into dried fruits for consumption without removing pits or fermenting, and directly dehydrated at high temperatures.

Of course, prune is not just a snack. It is paired with various ingredients and can be made into various delicious foods. For example, prune can also be added to dishes, whether used for salads, pastries, or as a staple food or ingredient, it is very suitable.
Below, I recommend a small recipe for prunes:
