Site Description: Inner Mongolia University of Technology is located in the northern border of China - Hohhot City, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Its predecessor was the Suiyuan Provincial Senior Industrial School, which was founded in 1951. It was the first school established in Suiyuan Province after the founding of the People's Republic of China to cultivate specialized talents, and Yang Zhilin, the President of Suiyuan Provincial Government, also served as the President. In 1958, Inner Mongolia Institute of Technology was established with the support of Tsinghua University. It was previously under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Machinery Industry and the Ministry of Agricultural Machinery. It was transferred to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 1983 and renamed Inner Mongolia University of Technology in 1993. The school currently operates on four campuses, namely the main campus, Jinchuan campus, Mining College, and Engineering Technology Specialized College, covering an area of 3235 acres.
