Site Description: The Foreign Affairs College is a liberal arts and foreign language institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that cultivates versatile talents in diplomatic and foreign affairs. The School of Foreign Affairs was established in September 1955, at the initiative of Premier Zhou Enlai, on the basis of the Department of Foreign Affairs at Renmin University of China. Vice Premier Chen Yi and Minister of Foreign Affairs have long served as the Dean of the School of Foreign Affairs. During the Cultural Revolution, the college was suspended. In 1980, under the care of Comrade Deng Xiaoping, the college resumed operations. The current president is Ambassador Zhao Jinjun, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The current Secretary of the Party Committee is Professor Qin Yaqing, a representative of the 16th National Congress of the CPC and a famous expert in international relations theory.
