What are the hazards of long-term consumption of sugary beverages?

In July 2022, a study published by Zhou Maigeng and others from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the European Journal of Public Health found that from 1990 to 2019, the number of deaths among Chinese residents due to excessive consumption of sugary beverages almost doubled, and the mortality rate caused by excessive consumption of sugary beverages also increased by 35%.

Data shows that in 2019, the number of deaths caused by sugary beverages in China reached 46600, an increase of 95% compared to 1990. The number of deaths caused by sugary beverages in males and the increase in deaths over the past 30 years are higher than in females.

Don't exceed this amount when drinking sugary drinks!

The research team from West China Hospital of Sichuan University suggests that the intake of sugary beverages should be controlled below one serving per week (i.e. 200-355ml)

It is best not to drink more than one can of sugary drinks (approximately 335ml) within a week. After all, when you drink sugary drinks, the only thing that pleases you is your oral senses, and other parts of your body are silently protesting.
